Matt Long - The power of "I WILL"

When you have a chance, watch this video by my friend, Matt Long, and think about the adversity he had to overcome to achieve his goals and then think about what your goals are for this coming year. "I will..." are powerful words. Hold yourself accountable by telling people what you will do. I'll share my goals with you:

I will:

  • Put forth 100% towards my studies.
  • Manage my time effectively.
  • Find joy in my profession despite the tough challenges we face in the classroom each day.
  • Inspire a child to pursue and enjoy science.
  • Run the Marine Corps Marathon this year in memory and in support of the amazing veterans I knew and those continuing their active duty for our country.
  • Run a sub 3:40.
  • Enjoy the training process for the academic marathon I am on and the literal marathon I will run next fall.
Now, what WILL you do?

Matt Long is awesome. I read his book and have heard him speak (he spoke at my Ironman pre-race dinner) and he is just one of the most inspiring people I have ever seen.
